shopping & shipping details

SHOPPING:

  • For Food, Medicines, other consumables: please check the expiration dates!
  • For Books, USED is wonderful! We love Half-Price books, clearance racks, or even if it's an oldie off your shelf, that's great! We use the Amazon.com wish-list feature because it's easy for you to tell what we'd enjoy and so you don't waste money shipping something we already have, but please don't feel like you have to purchase from Amazon or anywhere new. New is great, but used is even better!
SHIPPING:
  • Your shipping options range from expensive & quick to less expensive and slow. Neither are very cheap! Slower options are great with us ~ just remember not to put anything perishable (chocolate, medicines, etc.) in a box to be shipped surface mail in the summer!
  • To ship USPS, the options are: Global Express Guaranteed Mail, Express Mail International, and Priority Mail (in order of most-to-least expensive). These routes take about 2-14 working days, depending on which you choose.
  • DHL is the only non-USPS carrier that ships out to our part of the world at present. They can get it here in roughly 2 weeks.
  • If you are only sending books/copyrighted material, Media Mail is the best option (Airmail M-bag), it is significantly less expensive - but takes 3-4 months surface (tho we had one box take 14 months!). There is a new law that Foreigners cannot have more than 50 books per shipment, so please make sure there are less!!
  • If you are going to send a large quantity of one item, it'd be great to let us know so we can remove it from our list here!
  • Please mark your package as "GIFT" on the customs page - otherwise, we may have to pay large customs fees! We have never had to pay any form of fees or taxes yet, which is great.
  • For address information, contact us at mcnabbfam@highrange.org or contact Justin's mom if that would be easier for you. We have moved three times since moving to China, so you want to make sure to have our current address!
  • Also -- Justin's mom has had amazing "luck" sending packages thru a man at the Morrissey Post Office. His name is Milan -- and somehow he just knows what to write, how to package a box, etc -- all the packages sent thru him have made it here in one piece, and in record time. You may have to wait in line tho!!
